Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. In a bowl, combine the water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine the flour and salt. Pour the yeast into the flour and add the honey. Mix slowly until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and knead it with your hands for 1 minute. Transfer the dough to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.

  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a loaf. Using kitchen scissors or a sharp knife, make 6 45-degree angle cuts in the surface. Take one piece of dough and pull it to the left, then pull the next piece of dough to the right. Repeat with all the pieces until you have a shape resembling leaves on a branch. Transfer to a baking sheet and let rest for 20 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 175°C. Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water and brush the top of the bread with the egg mixture. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
