In a bowl, combine 2 cups flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 3/4 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt. Add 2 tablespoons (30 g) of cold butter pieces and knead the dough with your hands.

Add 1 beaten egg, 3/4 cup sour milk (can be replaced with kefir), 1/4 cup chopped walnuts and 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest.

Using floured hands, spoon the dough into a 20-centimeter (8-inch) baking pan. Draw an "X" on the top of the dough. Bake the bread in the oven at 190°C (350°F) for 30-35 minutes until fully cooked.
