Even a simple lettuce salad can be made into a delicious salad if dressed properly. A great option is a warm vinaigrette made with red wine vinegar and garlicky olive oil, topped with chopped sun-dried tomatoes and walnuts. It's the perfect light side dish for grilled meats.


Ingredients:

  • 1 head Bibb lettuce
  • 1 head of red lettuce
  • 2 tbsp. wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons of walnuts
  • 3 tablespoons sun-dried tomatoes
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Saute 6 chopped garlic cloves in 1/4 cup olive oil over low heat until golden brown, 8 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 3 tablespoons each chopped walnuts and sun-dried tomatoes (not in the oil); let cool.
  • Step 2
  • Add 2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar and season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in one torn small head of bibb lettuce and one small head of lettuce.
