Boil 12 ounces (340 g) each of green and yellow wax beans until tender, 5 to 7 minutes; drain. In a skillet, toast 1/2 cup chopped walnuts with olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon each of coarse salt, black pepper, and sugar for 5 minutes, then transfer to a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 3 chopped garlic cloves, and 2 teaspoons of chopped marjoram to the skillet. Cook, stirring, until tender, 1 minute.
