Lima bean sauce - detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 package (280 g) frozen lima beans
  • Salt
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • Grated zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 slices bacon, crisped and cut into pieces (optional)
  • Chips and/or julienned vegetables for garnish

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add the beans and garlic, and cook until softened, 18-20 minutes. Drain and rinse the beans under running water. In a food processor, blend the beans, garlic, parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, and olive oil until smooth, and add salt to taste.
  2. Place the beans in a deep dish and sprinkle with bacon. Serve the sauce warm with chips or breadsticks and julienned vegetables (cucumbers, bell peppers, celery).
