These healthy meatballs are made with ground beef, along with mashed black beans and kale. These ingredients add even more protein and fiber to the meatballs, adding a delicious flavor. Rinse canned beans can be used to speed up the cooking process. Frozen collard greens allow you to enjoy their freshness and deliciousness year-round. The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 450 g lean ground beef
  • 2 cups frozen chopped kale
  • 0.5 cups black beans, drained and mashed
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 large egg
  • 450 g spaghetti, boiled
  • 2 tbsp. ready marinara sauce, heated

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 230°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, microwave the kale according to package directions. Let cool slightly.

  3. Add ground beef, Italian seasoning, beans, garlic, egg, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and a pinch of black pepper to the cabbage. Mix everything together with your hands. Drop mounds of the meat mixture (about 2 tablespoons each) onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Using damp hands, form the balls and spread them evenly on the baking sheet. Bake until set, 12-14 minutes.
  5. Serve meatballs with warm pasta and marinara sauce.
