In a large saucepan, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil and sauté 1 chopped onion, 8 whole cloves of garlic, and 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika for about 2 minutes. Add 1 bunch of finely chopped mustard greens and kale, 2 cups of water, and a pinch of sugar and salt. Simmer, covered, until tender, about 15 minutes. Add hot sauce to taste.

Braised kale with mustard greens is a great alternative to regular braised kale. This side dish is rich in fiber, beneficial micronutrients, and, most importantly, a rich flavor from onions, plenty of garlic, and a pinch of smoked paprika. First, the onions are sautéed in olive oil in a skillet with whole garlic cloves and paprika, then the greens and water are added and simmered, covered, until soft. The result is a very tender and delicious kale.
