If you want to serve dip impressively at a house party, make it in a bread boat! This appetizer will always be a hit with guests. To make it, you'll need a long loaf of French or Italian bread. Scoop out the crumb, fill the boat with the filling, and bake. In this recipe, a cheddar and cream cheese filling is complemented by small pieces of delicious corned beef, tomatoes, green onions, and bell peppers. A few drops of Tabasco sauce will add a piquant and complete flavor. It's absolutely delicious. Serve the boat with corn chips around it for dipping.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 loaf of French or Italian bread
  • 2 packages of 220g cream cheese, room temperature
  • 280 g sharp cheddar, grated (about 2 1/2 cups)
  • 170 gr. corned beef, finely chopped
  • 1 large bunch green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
  • Half a red bell pepper, stemmed and seeded, finely chopped
  • 0.5 tsp hot sauce, such as Tabasco
  • 0.5 tsp chili powder
  • Large corn chips, for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 175°C.
  2. Cut an oval out of the top of the loaf of bread. Scoop out the crumb from the center to form a "bread boat." Place the bread on a baking sheet.

  3. In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar, corned beef, green onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, hot sauce, and chili powder until evenly distributed. Spoon the mixture into the bread boat. Bake for 30 minutes, until the filling is bubbling, and serve hot with tortilla chips.
