If you're preparing to watch a sports game with friends, create the appropriate atmosphere at home by paying attention to the details. For example, you could serve an appetizer shaped like a soccer ball. This recipe calls for a ball formed from a mixture of cream cheese and shredded cheddar, topped with hot sauce. Simply whisk the ingredients together and shape the mixture into the desired shape. Top the ball with a sprinkle of crushed pecans and crushed dried cranberries. Their flavors complement the cheese dip perfectly. Serve with fresh vegetables, crackers, or toast, arranging the appetizers around the cheese ball for everyone to dip into.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 2 packages of 220g cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups grated aged cheddar
  • 1 cup grated Romano cheese
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cups toasted pecans, finely chopped in a food processor
  • 1 cup dried cranberries, chopped in a food processor
  • Sriracha sauce
  • Chips, bell peppers, celery, carrots, or crusty French bread slices, for serving

We recommend

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Combine cream cheese, cheddar, Romano cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Using a hand mixer, beat until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste, if needed.
  2. Place the cheese mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap. Use your hands to shape the cheese into a soccer ball. Remove the wrap, evenly coat the cheese ball with nuts and cranberries, and use Sriracha sauce to create a lacing pattern on top.

  3. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the cheese ball to firm up.
  4. Serve with chips, vegetables or slices of French bread.
