A recipe for a tomato salad made with sliced ​​green tomatoes, avocado, and corn lettuce. Dressed with olive oil, lime juice, mustard, honey, jalapeño, and thyme.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 675 g green (unripe) tomatoes, cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp. lettuce leaves corn (field lettuce) or Boston lettuce (Bib lettuce)
  • 2 avocado
  • 1 small jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • Coarse salt
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Place the tomatoes in a bowl, sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt and leave for 30 minutes.

    Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the lime juice, mustard, honey, jalapeño, thyme, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper to taste. Gradually pour in the olive oil, stirring constantly until completely incorporated.

    Just before serving, cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, peel, and slice thinly. Add the avocado to the bowl with the dressing, then add the lettuce and tomatoes. Toss gently. Season with salt and pepper.
