Think onions can't be a standalone side dish? They can, if they're properly prepared pearl onions with raisins in a tart-sweet glaze! Before frying, blanch the onions in boiling water. This will make peeling them easier and they'll be tender after cooking. If the raisins are hard, pour boiling water over them and let them swell for 5 minutes.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.

1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

  • 700 g pearl onions
  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
