A quick and easy recipe for chili con carne, or simply chili, a Tex-Mex dish. The sauce is made in just half an hour, as it's made with ground turkey. All the spices are perfectly combined to create a balanced flavor, with hints of barbecue, just the right amount of heat, warming, and light at the same time. Perfect for a large group gathered around a table outdoors on a beautiful autumn day. Serve the chili straight from the large pot and arrange toppings and appetizers around it for everyone to choose to serve or dip.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Chile

  • 1.2 kg ground turkey (15% fat) or ground turkey breast (1% fat)
  • 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 4 tbsp dark chili powder
  • 2 tbsp grill seasoning
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 - 3 tbsp hot sauce, medium or hot
  • 1 large onion, cut into 4 pieces
  • 2 large bell peppers of any color, red, green, purple, yellow, or orange, sliced
  • Half a bottle of dark beer (the alcohol will evaporate during brewing), about 1 tbsp.
  • 400 gr. tomato sauce
  • 0.5 cup smoked barbecue sauce
  • 2 cups corn kernels, optional

Toppings

  • Salted straws
  • Yellow, red or blue corn chips in any flavor
  • Black Bean Corn Chips
  • Polenta chips, plain or guacamole flavored
  • Pita chips, plain or spicy

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Heat a pan over medium to medium-high heat. Add olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan in 3 turns, and add the ground turkey. Sprinkle the meat with chili powder, cumin, grill seasoning, Worcester and hot sauceUse the back of a wooden spoon to break the minced meat into small pieces.
  2. Slice the onion, reserving 1/4 for the topping. Sauté the ground beef for 5 minutes, then add the onion and chopped bell pepper and sauté for another 10 minutes. Pour in the beer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan and allowing the alcohol to evaporate. Add the tomato sauce and barbecue sauce and bring to a boil. If using corn, add it at this stage. Simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and serve.

  3.
