How to Make Turkey Meatloaf with Mushrooms

This turkey meatloaf with mushrooms is moist and holds its shape well, with each bite bursting with flavor. Adjust the amount of salt based on the saltiness of the cheese. Besides being incredibly delicious, this dish is ideal for those who are health-conscious and avoid red meat.


Ingredients:

  • 900 g of ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 250 g mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • A pinch of dried crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 170 g of shredded blue cheese
  • 250 gr. tomato sauce
  • 1 shallot, sliced ​​into rings
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms, onion, and garlic. Sauté until the mushrooms are softened (about 5-6 minutes).

    Stir in the dried red pepper flakes and sauté for another 1 minute. Pour in chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce, remove from heat and let cool.
  • Step 2
  • In a large bowl, combine the egg, breadcrumbs, blue cheese, and mushroom mixture. Add the turkey and stir, but not too long, to avoid making the meatloaf tough.
  • Step 3
  • Form a long rectangular loaf on a baking sheet. Spoon tomato sauce over the top and press in shallot rings. Bake for 1 hour 10 minutes and serve.
