The most delicious meatloaf is made from a mixture of different meats. Combine ground beef, veal, and pork with breadcrumbs, eggs, herbs, and seasonings to form a meat loaf. Place it in a slow cooker with vegetables to cook together, and you'll have a complete meal of meat and side dish in one pot.

This cooking method has two advantages. First, the meat and vegetables will simmer for a long time at a low temperature, allowing all the flavors, juices, and aromas to meld together and make your dish much more delicious. Second, you can start the slow cooker in the morning, and a hot, fresh dinner will be waiting for you when you get home from work. Serve the hot meatloaf with vegetables. And the leftovers can be used for sandwiches the next day.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, panko breadcrumbs, eggs, 3/4 cup ketchup, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, green onions, parsley, thyme, 1 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of pepper; mix with your hands to evenly combine all the ingredients. Form into a 12 x 22 cm loaf.
  2. Transfer the meatloaf to a 6-quart slow cooker. Arrange the potatoes and carrots on top and around the meatloaf. Pour in the chicken broth. Close the slow cooker and cook the meatloaf on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.

  3. When the meatloaf is done, skim off any excess fat from the slow cooker liquid. In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup ketchup, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar, then stir in 1/4 cup of the slow cooker liquid. Brush the meatloaf with the sauce. Close the slow cooker and let the meat rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the meatloaf from the slow cooker and cut into pieces. Serve with vegetables and sprinkle with parsley.
