Lentils are a great base for a filling, nutritious, and healthy salad, rich in protein and essential vitamins and minerals. For this recipe, you'll need green lentils. They stay fluffy and don't overcook. Fried bacon adds a fantastic flavor. Dress the salad with sherry vinegar, grainy mustard, and olive oil and serve as a side dish or as a main course for a light dinner.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 cup green lentils
  • 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp sherry vinegar
  • 2 slices of bacon
  • 2 stalks of celery

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a saucepan, fry 2 slices of bacon; remove with a slotted spoon. Add 2 chopped celery stalks, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1 sliced ​​red onion; fry for 4 minutes.
  2. Add 4 cups water and 1 cup dried green lentils (rinsed); simmer until tender, 30 minutes.

  3. Add 3 tablespoons olive oil, 2 tablespoons sherry vinegar, and 1 tablespoon grainy mustard; season with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with fried bacon, chopped parsley, and sliced ​​roasted red pepper.
