Combine roasted walnuts with dried cherries and pie spices like cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. While baking, the house will be filled with the magical aroma of spices, adding a festive touch. Serve the nuts and dried fruit as an appetizer at a house party.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Festive Pie Spice Mix

  • 6 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp ground allspice
  • 0.5 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. grated nutmeg

Nuts

  • Vegetable oil to grease the baking sheet
  • Protein of 1 large egg
  • 4 cups unsalted raw walnuts
  • 1 cup dried cherries

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine sugar, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, cloves, nutmeg and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt in a small bowl and set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 175°C. Lightly grease the sides of a baking sheet with vegetable oil.

  3. Nuts:

    Place the egg white in a large bowl and whisk until foamy. Add the walnuts and stir to coat. Add the spice mixture and stir again to coat.
  4. Spread the nuts evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, 15-20 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet, then stir in the dried cherries and transfer to a large bowl.
