This thick, creamy berry smoothie is quick to prepare, and the taste experience far outweighs the effort. Even the berry seeds won't detract from the delightful experience. A few mint leaves will add a refreshing touch during the summer heat. To make the smoothie easier to drink, you can thin it out by adding more orange juice (about 1/2 cup) or by substituting plain yogurt for thick yogurt. This drink, with its perfect balance of tartness and sweetness, is thick enough to be used as a fruit salad dressing.

Using frozen berries and fruits eliminates the need for ice, which dilutes the smoothie's flavor. Peel and slice a banana, then freeze it in a freezer bag. You can prepare frozen bananas ahead of time and use them to make smoothies, shakes, and bake muffins and cupcakes.
To make drinking this thick smoothie convenient, use special thick smoothie straws or a spoon.
