Grilled green onions make a wonderful picnic side dish, perfect for serving with grilled meats or in sandwiches. Thick green onions are best for grilling. Grill for just 1-2 minutes per side and serve. Grilled green onions not only look delicious with crisp grill marks, but also have a milder, smoky flavor. You can eat far more of these onions than raw ones, so grill a whole bunch to make sure there's enough for everyone.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Brush the green onions with olive oil. Place them on the grill and grill until crisp grill marks appear, about 2 minutes. Flip and grill for about 1 more minute. Transfer the green onions to 2 plates and serve warm.
