Make a classic cheeseburger with a juicy beef patty, veggies, and a slice of American or Cheddar cheese for an authentic flavor. This recipe grills the patty and buns, which adds even more flavor to the sandwich. Before grilling, make an indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from puffing up, ensuring they're flat and crisp.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1.1 kg ground beef
  • Vegetable oil for greasing
  • 6 slices American cheese or cheddar
  • 6 sesame seed hamburger buns, cut in half horizontally
  • Lettuce leaves, tomato slices, onion rings, ketchup and mustard, for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat. Divide the ground beef into 6 equal pieces and form each into a 2.5 cm thick patty. Press the center of each patty so it's slightly thinner than the edges. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper. Lightly oil the grill grate.
  2. Grill the patties, turning once, until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side, topping with a slice of cheese a few minutes before done. Lightly brush the buns with oil and grill until golden brown. Place the patties on the bottom buns and top with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, then top with the bun tops. Serve with ketchup and mustard.
