A delicious and filling low-calorie breakfast made in just a few minutes in the microwave. You can leave the apples peeled for added fiber. Mix them with rolled oats, add a pinch of cinnamon for a classic flavor, and simmer in water. Sweeten the finished porridge with maple syrup for a warm caramel flavor, and top with toasted pecans for a healthy fat boost. Enjoy the perfect dessert-like combination of flavors and aromas from all the ingredients in this porridge.

Recipe:

In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the apple, oats, and cinnamon. Pour in the water and stir. Cover tightly with plastic wrap or a tight-fitting lid and microwave until the apples are soft and most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 8 minutes. Stir in the maple syrup. Divide the porridge among 2 bowls and top with nuts. Serve immediately.
