This light, healthy, and refreshing grapefruit salad makes a wonderful side dish for fish or grilled meat. The juicy fruit pairs beautifully with red and green onions, fragrant basil, and black olives. Dress the salad with high-quality extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Before slicing the peeled grapefruit into thin slices, remove the outer membranes to remove as much of the bitterness as possible.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 2 grapefruits, peeled and cut into large slices
  • Half a red onion, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup pitted black olives, chopped
  • 1 bunch basil, leaves finely chopped (about 1 cup)
