Want your child to enjoy a healthy snack? Make these healthy sandwiches in fun shapes. It's easy to make with cookie cutters, and your child will be happy to help! These sandwiches are made with whole-grain bread, low-salt smoked turkey breast, low-fat cheese, tomato, and lettuce. Instead of fatty mayonnaise, try healthy and nutritious hummus. Cut out the ingredients and place them in a lunchbox, and your child can assemble their own fun sandwich at snack time.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 slices of whole grain bread
  • 2 slices reduced-sodium smoked turkey breast
  • 1 slice reduced-fat cheddar
  • 1 tbsp. hummus
  • 2 slices of tomato
  • 1 thin slice of cucumber
  • 1 small leaf of lettuce
  • Special equipment: cookie cutters

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Using a cookie cutter, cut out shapes from bread, turkey breast, and cheese. Place the hummus in a small container to use as a sandwich spread.
