Satisfy your meatloaf craving in just 15 minutes by making these thin patties, which are grilled in the oven and ready in minutes instead of traditional meatloaf. Served on mayonnaise-slathered potato buns with juicy green beans, these sandwiches are delicious as is, but topped with a couple of strips of fried bacon, they're even better.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 450 g ground beef or meatloaf mix
  • 1 shallot
  • 0.5 cups plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
  • 450 g frozen chopped green beans
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 potato buns, cut in half horizontally
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 lettuce leaves

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to grill mode.
  2. Grate the shallots coarsely. Add the ground meat, breadcrumbs, half the ketchup, egg, Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of salt, and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Mix the meat mixture thoroughly with your hands, then divide it into 4 equal balls and form each into a patty just under 1 cm thick.

  3. Place on a baking sheet and grill until the tops of the patties begin to set and brown, 3-4 minutes. Turn the patties over with a metal spatula and continue grilling until cooked through, another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Brush each patty with the remaining ketchup and top with a slice of cheese. Continue cooking until the cheese is melted, another 30 seconds.
  5. While the patties are frying, in a medium bowl, combine the green beans, butter, 1 tablespoon of water, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Cover and microwave for 4-5 minutes.
  6. Open the buns and spread mayonnaise on the cut sides. Place a lettuce leaf and a patty on each bun. Serve with green beans.
