Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat grill to medium heat.
  2. Place two 24-inch (60 cm) pieces of nonstick foil next to each other, with the long sides just touching. Pinch the edges together, then fold them over several times to seal and form one large piece of foil. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and set aside.

  3. Crack the eggs into a large bowl and beat well. Add the green onions, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of water and beat well.
  4. Using a serrated knife, cut each of the bound buns in half horizontally. Set aside.
  5. Place the prepared baking sheet on the grill and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Cover the grill and let the butter melt for about 3 minutes. Use a pastry brush to spread the butter over the entire baking sheet, then pour the egg mixture onto the baking sheet. Place the secured bun halves, cut-side down and side by side, on top of the eggs and cover the grill. Cook until the eggs are completely set, about 10 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, grease another baking sheet with the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Using oven mitts, cover the buns with this baking sheet and invert the two baking sheets on the grill. Remove the top baking sheet and unwrap the foil. Top half of the eggs with slices of cheese and the other half with slices of ham. Cover the grill and cook until the cheese is melted, about 5 minutes. Using a large hamburger spatula, flip the bottom half of the buns onto the other half to create a large sandwich. Serve with hot sauce.
