Make a light spring guacamole by mixing avocado with green peas, fresh cilantro, green onions, and jalapeño. Serve as an appetizer with sliced ​​cucumbers for dipping. This appetizer is perfect for a light snack before a holiday dinner.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 280 g frozen green peas
  • 2 large ripe Hass avocados, halved, pitted and peeled
  • Zest and juice of 1 lime + more to taste
  • 0.5 cups tightly packed cilantro, plus extra for serving
  • 1 green onion (green part only), chopped
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 seedless cucumbers, peeled and thinly sliced, for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add the green peas and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Drain the peas and immediately rinse them with cold water. Drain thoroughly, then transfer to a food processor. Blend until almost smooth. Add the avocado, lime zest and juice, and cilantro. Blend until almost smooth.

  3. Add the green onions and jalapeño and blend until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with cilantro. Serve the guacamole with cucumber slices.
