A delicious dessert at a picnic is unusual and unusual. However, after a delicious grilled meal, you can bake French toast, making it more than just baked bread, but a true delicacy. To prepare, use non-stick foil. Place slices of bread soaked in the milk mixture on each sheet, wrap them up, and grill over coals. The outside will be crispy, and the inside will have the soft texture of custard, thanks to the mixture of eggs, unsweetened condensed milk, maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla. Serve the French toast with fresh berries and enjoy a healthy dessert al fresco.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 3 tbsp (45 g) butter, melted
  • 350 g of low-fat condensed milk without sugar
  • 2 large eggs category CO
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup + extra for serving
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 slices multigrain bread, lightly toasted
  • 1 cup assorted berries
  • Special equipment: non-stick foil

We recommend

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

Tear off 8 sheets of foil, 35 cm each, and lay them out with the nonstick side facing up. Brush the center of each sheet with melted butter.
  2. In a small bowl or a resealable bag, whisk together the condensed milk, eggs, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon.

  3. Dip each slice of bread into the milk mixture on both sides. Place 2 slices of bread next to each other, without overlapping, on a sheet of greased foil. Repeat with the remaining bread and 3 sheets of foil.
  4. Make foil parcels. Place the remaining greased foil sheets over each portion of soaked bread, ensuring the foil is lying flat on the bread and the edges of both sheets of foil meet. Fold and crimp the edges tightly to form 4 oblong parcels.
  5. Place the wraps on the grill, close the lid, and bake for 5 minutes. Flip the wraps, close the lid, and bake for another 5 minutes. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes. Carefully unwrap the foil (hot steam will escape). Both sides of the French toast should be golden brown, and the center should still be creamy. Leave the wraps in the foil or transfer to plates. Top each serving with 1/4 cup berries, drizzling with maple syrup if desired.

    Note

If you don't have a whisk to beat the eggs, you can use a fork just as well.
