Fans of spicy Buffalo chicken wings will love the idea of preparing drumsticks with the same flavor and serving them as a main course with a side dish or as a beer snack. The drumsticks are baked in the oven until crispy, and a few minutes before they're done, they're basted with spicy butter, which imbues them with that signature Buffalo flavor. Grill the chicken on the grill to allow the heat to circulate freely, ensuring the skin crisps up on all sides. Serve the drumsticks immediately and enjoy their sizzling flavor, crispy skin, and juicy interior.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Chicken:

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Rinse and pat dry the chicken drumsticks. In a medium bowl or zip-lock bag, combine the vegetable oil, chili powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Place the drumsticks in the herb oil and toss to coat. Bake the drumsticks on a rack set over a baking sheet (to allow for better heat circulation) until very tender and the skin is crispy, 50 minutes.
  2. Hot sauce:

Combine butter, hot sauce, and barbecue sauce in a large bowl.

  3. Place the drumsticks in the hot sauce and toss until well coated. Place the drumsticks back on the rack in the baking pan and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes.

    Note:

If you prefer a milder-tasting sauce, combine 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 1 teaspoon hot sauce, the juice and zest of 1 lime, 1 minced garlic clove, and a little salt and black pepper.
