Oysters are an excellent aphrodisiac and an exquisite appetizer, served not only in the shell on a bed of crushed ice but also as shooters, small, one-sip cocktails. The main ingredients of these shooters, in addition to fresh oysters, are most often vodka, tomato juice, cocktail sauce, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Below are three variations of oyster shooters: one with vodka and two non-alcoholic ones, which can be served simply as appetizers. These cocktails are invigorating and uplifting.

1 raw oyster
1 tsp cocktail sauce
1 lemon wedge

Shooter #2
1 raw oyster
1 teaspoon cocktail sauce
1 lemon wedge
Vodka

Shooter #3
1 raw oyster
Tomato juice
Hot sauce
1 lemon wedge

Shooter #1
Place the oyster in a shot glass, pour cocktail sauce on top and squeeze in lemon juice.

Shooter #2
Place the oyster in a shot glass, top with the desired amount of vodka, add cocktail sauce and squeeze in a lemon.

Shooter #3
Place the oyster in a shot glass, pour in the tomato juice, top with hot sauce and squeeze in the lemon.
