Crispy Breaded Chicken Cutlets

How to Make Crispy Breaded Chicken Cutlets
Menu:Dinner,
Time: 20 min.

Fried chicken cutlets are one of the easiest and quickest dishes, perfect for both everyday use and special occasions. With a little creativity, you can vary the flavor and crispiness of the chicken using minimal ingredients: simply substitute breadcrumbs for whatever crispy item you can find in your pantry, such as breakfast cereal, pretzels, crackers, or chips.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Beat the egg in a shallow bowl. Place the breading mixture in a separate shallow bowl. Season the chicken with salt and black pepper. Dip the chicken in the egg, let any excess drip off, then coat it in the breading mixture, pressing firmly to ensure it adheres to all sides.
  • Step 2
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken cutlets, two at a time, until crispy and cooked through, 4-5 minutes per side, adjusting the heat as needed if the skin is browning too quickly. Transfer the cutlets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain; sprinkle with salt.
