Greek meatballs in tomato sauce - a detailed recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 340 g of minced young lamb
  • 340 g of ground beef or veal
  • 300 g chopped tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • A handful of chopped parsley
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) butter
  • 1 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 lemon
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat.

    Mix the meat, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper. Add butter to the pan, add olive oil, and begin rolling small, bite-sized balls. Add the balls to the pan as you form them.
  • Step 2
  • Fry the meatballs for 10-12 minutes, shaking the pan occasionally to ensure even browning on all sides. Deglaze the pan with wine and cook until the wine has reduced by half, about 1 minute. Add the tomatoes and cook for 6-8 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat. Serve in bowls and squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon over the meatballs.
