Bubble Tea: Tea with bubbles

There's no more fun drink for a children's party than bubble tea. Taiwanese tapioca bubble tea has long been popular worldwide and is still considered one of the most creative and Instagrammable drinks. It's especially striking with the contrasting black tapioca balls peeking out from the iced green tea with milk.


Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup tapioca
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup of cold green tea
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Cook 1 1/2 cups large black tapioca pearls in boiling water for 6 minutes; cover and let sit for 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Combine 1 cup each of water and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour the syrup into a bowl. Drain the tapioca and let it soak in the sugar syrup. To serve, place 1/4 cup of tapioca in a glass. Combine 1 cup of cold green tea, 3 tablespoons of sugar syrup, 1/4 cup of milk, and 1 tablespoon of sugar with ice; pour the mixture over the tapioca.
