This five-star, easy-to-make banana cake recipe is a classic that won't disappoint. Serve it best with a pat of butter drizzled with honey or vanilla ice cream.


Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp. milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 tbsp (110 g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups baking flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 160°C. Grease a baking dish (22-12-7 cm) with butter.
  • Step 2
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly between each addition.

    In a small bowl, mash the bananas with a fork. Stir in the milk and cinnamon. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Step 3
  • Add the banana puree to the cream and mix until smooth. Add the dry ingredients, stirring constantly until the flour dissolves.
  • Step 4
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cake (until it comes out clean). Cool the cake on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Remove the cake from the pan and let it cool completely before slicing.

    Drizzle the slices with honey or serve with ice cream.
