Unlike the classic recipe, this Sazerac is made with hibiscus bitters and hibiscus syrup, which effectively replaces regular sugar, transforming the rye whiskey and absinthe cocktail into a riot of flavors and aromas. Serve in an Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel and enjoy.

In a cocktail shaker, combine 60 ml of rye whiskey with ice and a drop each of hibiscus syrup and hibiscus bitters; stir well. Add a splash of absinthe to a chilled wide glass and line the bottom with it. Strain the drink into the glass (add fresh ice if desired). Garnish with a lemon peel.
