Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 0.5 cups dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1.5 cups silver tequila
  • 3/4 tbsp. Triple sec liqueur
  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (from about 8 limes) + lime wedges for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine the sugar, hibiscus, and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Transfer to a small bowl and refrigerate until completely cool, at least 1 hour.
  • Step 2
  • Combine tequila, Triple Sec, and lime juice in a pitcher. Strain the hibiscus syrup into the pitcher and stir. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Sprinkle a small amount of salt into a shallow bowl. Wet the rims of 8 glasses with a lime wedge and dip them in the salt until they stick. Combine half the cocktail with 4 cups of ice in a blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to a separate pitcher; blend the remaining cocktail with another 4 cups of ice. Serve the frozen Margarita in the prepared glasses, garnished with lime wedges.
