We recommend

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Gut the turkey, remove the neck, and trim off any excess fat. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Refrigerate overnight and allow the turkey to dry completely to prevent oil splatter during deep-frying.
  • Step 2
  • Fill a deep fryer or large saucepan with vegetable oil and heat to 200°C.
  • Step 3
  • Meanwhile, mix in a bowl spicy Cajun seasoning and dried onion. Rub the turkey inside and out with the seasoning mixture. Make sure the neck opening is not blocked to ensure even cooking.
  • Step 4
  • Place the turkey in the basket and slowly lower it into the hot oil until completely submerged. Roast for approximately 50 minutes or until a thermometer inserted into the thigh registers 180-185°F (80-82°C).
  • Step 5
  • Carefully remove the turkey from the oil and place it on paper towels. Let it drain for 30 minutes. Then transfer it to a platter.
