The Paloma (Little Dove) is one of the most popular Mexican tequila-based cocktails, comparable in flavor to the more famous Margarita. It's made with lime and grapefruit juice, grapefruit soda, and a pinch of salt. The salt really adds a rich flavor to the cocktail. For a more vibrant and appealing presentation, add a splash of grenadine to each glass.


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup tequila
  • 1 cup grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 0.5 tsp. grenadine
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Fill 4 tall glasses three-quarters full with ice. Pour 0.5 teaspoon of grenadine into each glass. Combine 1 cup tequila, 1 cup grapefruit juice, 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice, 2 teaspoons superfine sugar, and a pinch of salt in a cocktail shaker. Shake well, then pour into glasses. Top each serving with 1/4 cup grapefruit soda.
