Ingredients:


For the ginger syrup:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 piece (5 cm) ginger, peeled and diced

For one serving of cocktail:
  • 45 ml apple brandy
  • 20 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 15 ml orange liqueur
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tbsp ginger syrup
  • Star star anise, for decoration (optional)
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Prepare ginger syrup: Combine sugar and 1/2 cup water in a saucepan. Place the saucepan on the stove and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Remove the saucepan from the stove and let cool slightly. Pour the syrup into a food processor or blender, add the ginger, and process until smooth. Let the ginger syrup steep for 2-3 hours, then strain through a sieve lined with cheesecloth.

  • Prepare a cocktail: Fill a shaker with ice, add brandy, vinegar, orange liqueur, honey, and 1 tablespoon of ginger syrup. Shake thoroughly, then strain the cocktail into a short glass filled with ice. Garnish with a star anise.
