It's believed that the healthiest oatmeal is made not from rolled oats, but from cut oats. It takes longer to cook, but you get many times more nutrients and a pleasant nutty flavor, and this recipe will help you make fantastically delicious oatmeal that will energize you all day. The oats are first toasted in butter and then cooked in water. Just a few minutes before they're ready, the oats are mixed with milk and sour milk, creating a very creamy and pleasant texture. Serve sprinkled with brown sugar and cinnamon.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. chopped oats
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 3 cups of boiling water
  • 0.5 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 tbsp. + 1 tbsp. l. low-fat curdled milk
  • 1 tbsp. l. brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter and add the oats. Stir for 2 minutes to toast the oats. Add boiling water and reduce the heat. Simmer for 25 minutes, without stirring.
  • Step 2
  • Combine the milk and half of the sour milk with the oats. Stir gently and cook for another 10 minutes. Spoon into a deep bowl and pour in the remaining sour milk, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
