Ingredients:
- 220 g of bacon
- 220 g of pasta
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons of crushed garlic
- 2 plum tomatoes, chopped
- Two 425g cans of red kidney beans, rinsed
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.

Preparation:
- Step 1
- Fry the bacon in batches in a large skillet until crisp. Transfer to a plate lined with a brown paper bag or paper towels. Cut into 1-cm pieces. Step 2
- While the bacon is frying, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add a large pinch of salt and the pasta, and cook according to package directions. Drain the pasta and set it aside. Step 3
- Drain almost all the rendered fat from the skillet, reserving 1 tablespoon, and place it over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for about 1 minute, being careful not to burn it. Add the tomatoes and beans and cook until the beans are heated through, about 2 minutes. Step 4
- Stir in the bacon and parsley. Set aside 1.5 cups for the French Bean Stew recipe. Toss the remainder with the pasta. Taste and season with salt and pepper if needed. Serve warm.
