Grilled chicken thighs

Chicken pairs perfectly with garlic and honey. Garlic imparts a piquant flavor and aroma, while the honey glaze tenderizes the meat and creates a delicious caramelized crust during cooking. This dish will captivate you with its unusual combination of flavors and a bouquet of aromas.


Ingredients:

  • 4 large chicken thighs, skinned and boned
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chopped thyme
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 crushed garlic cloves
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, thyme, pepper, and garlic in a bowl. Set aside 1/4 cup of the marinade for later use. Place the chicken and remaining sauce in a zip-top plastic bag and marinate for 2-3 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Step 2
  • Light a charcoal grill. Once the coals have burned down, move them to one side, leaving one side open and the other side open.

    Grill the chicken thighs over the coals for 5 minutes on each side, until the sugar doesn't burn, but the chicken retains its grill marks. Transfer the thighs to the other side and baste them with the remaining marinade. Cover the grill and cook, basting every 3-4 minutes, for 10 minutes, until fully cooked.

  • Indoor roasting

    If it's raining outside, preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F). Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for 5-6 minutes. Turn the chicken over and cook in the oven for 20 minutes, until the thighs reach an internal temperature of 70°C (168°F).
