Maple syrup is often used in both desserts and hot dishes in North American cuisine. Don't worry about the thighs being too sweet. The unusual combination of mustard and maple syrup adds an indescribable bouquet of flavors and aromas to something as simple as oven-baked chicken thighs. And the delicious crust and juicy meat will leave no one indifferent!

This dish takes less than an hour to prepare, making it perfect for both festive occasions and everyday meals.

Ingredients:

  • 4 large bone-in, skinless chicken thighs (about 700g)
  • 2 tbsp. grainy mustard
  • 2 tablespoons regular mustard
  • 1 crushed clove of garlic
  • 0.5 tsp dried marjoram
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 190°C.
  • Step 2
  • Wash and pat dry the chicken thighs with paper towels. In a small bowl, combine the mustard, garlic, marjoram, and maple syrup. Spread 1.5 tablespoons of the mustard mixture evenly over each chicken thigh, coating thoroughly to ensure a crispy crust. Place the thighs in a glass or ceramic dish.

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the mustard mixture has set slightly and a crust has formed. The chicken juices should run clear when pierced.
