Don't like meat? No problem! There are 10 foods that will give you as much protein as meat.

1. Tofu. Half a cup of tofu contains 7 grams of protein. Tofu is a cheese made from soybean curd. If you buy it, open the package, scoop it out, place it between two paper towels to remove excess liquid, and then use it in your cooking as desired.

2. Tempe - a fermented soy product. It is made from soybeans, and it has a slightly nutty flavor. Half a cup of tempeh contains 11 grams of protein. Tempeh should be cooked for at least 20 minutes before eating. It's delicious on bread and in a variety of other dishes.

3. Lentils. Lentils are a legume and, unlike other legumes, don't need to be soaked before cooking. Half a cup of lentils contains 9 grams of protein. Lentils are available both dried and canned. To do this, drain the liquid and simmer for half an hour before using them in dishes.

4. Quinoa seeds. Half a cup of these seeds contains 4 grams of protein. They can be added to pasta or rice, or added to soups and salads. Cook the seeds like rice, then add them to various dishes or mix them with vegetables.

5. Beans. They taste great in absolutely any dish: meatless chili, soup, or salad. If you buy canned beans, just drain the liquid and heat the rest. If you buy dried beans, rinse them several times, soak them in water overnight, and then cook them in the morning and add them to dishes.

6. Eggs. This excellent product is perfect for breakfast. Each egg contains 6 grams of protein. They can be hard-boiled, scrambled, or made into an omelet. Although eggs come from chickens, they contain no meat at all.

7. Cottage cheese. Half a cup of this product contains a whopping 13 grams of protein. For those watching their figure, low-fat cottage cheese is available. It's great eaten with vegetables, fruit, or on its own.

8. Pumpkin seeds. They can be eaten fresh, or better yet, lightly roasted and seasoned with salt and pepper. 28 grams of seeds contain 7 grams of protein. However, it's best not to eat too many because they're high in calories.

9. Natto, Natto, also known as Japanese soy cheese, is made from fermented soybeans and served with rice. This cheese can be found in Asian grocery stores. Half a cup of natto contains 15.5 grams of protein.

10. Seitan, or wheat gluten. Half a cup of seitan contains 20 grams of protein! It's an excellent meat substitute. It easily absorbs any flavors during cooking. Seitan is very popular in China and Japan.
