Soup is one of the simplest dishes. Here are a few rules.



1. The easiest way is to place different root vegetables (cut into equal pieces) in a saucepan, add water or broth and cook over low heat until the vegetables are ready, and then chop them with a blender.

2. To enhance the flavor of the soup, first sauté the vegetables in a little vegetable oil. This is especially helpful if you're using vegetables with different cooking times. Start with those that take the longest to cook, such as carrots and potatoes, and add the rest later.

3. Add the cream just before serving. If you plan to freeze the soup, add the cream while it's reheating.
