Coffee soda

How to Make Coffee Soda
Time: 2 hours 45 minutes
Complexity: easily
Servings: 8

If you love coffee and its flavor, you can easily make coffee soda at home—a drink that's hard to find in stores. You can now quench your thirst throughout the day and use it as a base for cocktails. To make the soda, you'll need sparkling water, which you mix with homemade simple coffee syrup. To make an alcoholic cocktail, add vodka and coffee liqueur to your coffee soda.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 cup coffee beans, ground in a mortar
  • Ice cubes
  • 8 shots very cold coffee liqueur, optional
  • 8 shots of very cold vodka, optional
  • 8 cups very cold sparkling water
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.

We recommend

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over high heat and simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat, stir in the ground coffee, and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Strain, cover and refrigerate until the syrup is very cold, at least 2 hours.
  • Step 3
  • Fill 8 tall glasses with ice. Add about 1/4 cup of coffee syrup to each glass. If desired, add a shot of vodka and coffee liqueur along with the syrup and stir well. Top off the glasses with club soda.
