Philadelphia cheesesteak with pickled peppers

How to Make - Philly Cheesesteak with Pickled Peppers
Kitchen:American,
Time: 25 min.
Complexity: easily

A Philly cheesesteak is a sandwich filled with juicy slices of grilled beef steak topped with a melting cheese sauce. To cook the steak in minutes, slice it very thin. This is easier if the steak is slightly frozen. Besides the meat, a cheesesteak is typically topped with roasted bell peppers and onions, but Sunny Anderson decided to replace them with pickled hot and sweet peppers in her recipe.

  • Cheese sauce:

In a saucepan, combine the grated cheese, cream cheese, paprika, 8 ounces of beer, a pinch of salt, and a few grinds of black pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the cheese melts. Keep warm, adding more beer if necessary if the sauce is too thick.
  • Step 2
  • Beef:

In a frying pan over high heat, fry the beef and sprinkle with seasoned salt and black pepper.
  • Step 3
  • Fry over high heat, stirring quickly until the pieces touch the pan on all sides, for just a few minutes. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely with foil.
  • Step 4
  • Sandwich:

Spread mayonnaise on one side of the bun and ketchup on the other. Top with beef, jalapeño, bell pepper, and cheese sauce. Close the sandwich and enjoy!
