An Italian pizza topped with sweet peppers and fried sweet pork sausage. Baked in a Sicilian style in a rectangular pie pan.

Ingredients:

  • 2 balls of pizza dough (450 g each) at room temperature
  • 1.5 tbsp. coarsely grated mozzarella cheese

  • 2/3 cup canned pureed tomatoes
  • 3/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 225g sweet Italian sausage for frying (remove casing and crumble)
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced ​​into rings

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 430°F (230°C). Spray a 25x38cm (10x15") baking sheet or a rimmed baking sheet with olive oil. Place the dough balls side by side on the baking sheet and press them together at the edges to form one large piece of dough. Pinch and stretch the dough to fill the pan. (If using a baking sheet, pinch and stretch the dough to form a 25x38cm (10x15") rectangle.)

  • Place the pureed tomatoes on the dough, leaving about a 2.5 cm border. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, cheese, sausage, and bell pepper.
