Rice Horchata Drink - A Detailed Recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice, rinsed
  • 1 tube cinnamon, break into pieces
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon and cinnamon sticks, for garnish
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Place the rice, cinnamon stick, and 4 cups of water in a blender and blend coarsely. Transfer the mixture to a larger bowl and add another 4 cups of water. Let the mixture soak at room temperature for 3 hours.
  • Step 2
  • Once the time is up, transfer the rice mixture to a blender and blend until smooth. Then strain the mixture through cheesecloth into a pitcher. Stir in the sugar and refrigerate.
  • Step 3
  • Before serving, stir the drink and pour into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
