Recipe for making the Danish Christmas alcoholic drink "Glögg".


Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of red wine
  • 120 milliliters of vodka
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 170 grams of seedless raisins
  • 150 grams of almonds
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 8 carnation buds
  • 10 grams of ginger (ground)
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

    Step 1
  • Place the washed raisins and almonds in a saucepan, add sugar and spices. Pour in the wine and vodka, bring to a boil, and bring to a simmer. Do not let the mixture boil to prevent the alcohol from evaporating.

  • Remove from heat and let sit for 2 hours. Before serving, reheat the drink over low heat and pour into thick-walled glasses.
