A unique appetizer, lemongrass patties on sticks, will impress your guests. Mix ground pork with bacon bits, herbs, and spices, form into patties, and stuff them with lemongrass stalks. Grill them in the oven. You may need to cover the sticks with foil if they start to burn. Arrange the appetizer attractively on a platter and serve with a dipping sauce.


Ingredients:

  • 220 g thin slices of bacon, chopped
  • 450 g of minced pork shoulder
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp grated peeled ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 lemongrass stalks, cut into 12 10cm sticks.
  • Sweet chili sauce, for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat the oven to broil. In a large bowl, combine the bacon, ground pork, garlic, cilantro, ginger, sugar, and soy sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 2
  • Wet your hands with water. Form the minced meat into 12 balls. Insert a lemongrass stick into the center of each ball and press the minced meat down the stem to form a sausage shape, leaving a portion of the stem for the handle.
  • Step 3
  • Place the minced meatballs on a foil-lined baking sheet and grill until golden brown, 3-4 minutes per side. Serve with chili sauce.
