If you can't imagine breakfast without juicy fried pork sausages, you'll love these homemade patties, which have the same flavor. They're juicy, tender, and full of aromatic herbs, with a hint of sweetness that beautifully accentuates their spicy flavor. These patties pair perfectly with scrambled eggs and are perfect for making hearty breakfast sandwiches.

Ingredients:

  • 450 g of minced pork
  • 1 tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 4 tsp finely chopped fresh sage
  • 2 tsp finely chopped fresh thyme
  • 0.5 tsp ground ginger
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a large bowl, combine ground pork, brown sugar, sage, thyme, ginger, cayenne pepper, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, and 2 tablespoons water. Form into 2-inch patties, transfer to a baking sheet, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  • Step 2
  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add half of the patties and cook, turning once, until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a baking sheet. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet and repeat with the remaining patties.
  • Step 3
  • Transfer the cutlets to the oven and bake until done, 3-5 minutes.
